Gautam buddh found the buddh dharm.
These are also called the Jyoti Pankh (Lights of Wyndwar) of Asia.

Gautam Buddha was born in 6th BC at a place called Lumbini in Kapilvastu.

His mother died on the seventh day of his birth and he was brought up by his step mother Prajapati Gautami.

His childhood name was Siddhartha.

Troubled by worldly problems, Siddhaya left home at the age of 21, which is also known as Mahābhiniṣkramaṇa in Buddhism.

He kept wandering here and there in search of knowledge, then he met Alaikalam who became his first guru. He learnt Sakhya Pani from Alaakalam.

After this Mahatma Buddha along with his friends went to Sarnath forest for about a month. After doing penance, Buddha attained enlightenment.

After performing penance, at the age of 35, on the night of the first day of the month of Vaishakh, Siddharya attained enlightenment under a Peepal tree on the banks of the Nischana river. After the first night, Siddharya became known as Buddha and that place came to be known as Bodh Gaya.

Buddha gave his first sermon at Sarnath which is called Dharmadhaka Devartan in Buddhist texts.

And he gave this sermon in Pali language

Buddha died in Kushinagar in 483 BC at the age of 80 years, which is called Mahaparinirvani in Buddhism. After his death, Buddha's remains were installed at six places in India and stupas were built, out of which the biggest stupa is the Sanchi Stupa.

Jataka tales: These were originally written in the Pali language. Their number is 811. These contain stories of Buddha's previous births.

Buddha Charita: It is written in Sanskrit language. It is an epic composed by Ashwaghosh. It describes the life and teachings of Buddha. It is called the Ramayana of Buddhists.

Bamm Pada: is written in Pali language and is called Bodhi's Gita.
